Do you miss those good RnB songs?

I haven't heard many good RnB ballads that drives and motivates you to do something or just say yeah, "Usher, I know what you're talking about.." They were once a dime a dozen, but quality RnB tracks are so scarce that it makes me wonder whether artists have just quit their line of work...

Here's my list of classic RnB songs that make you say uh huh or damn right

1. Usher - You got it bad.
Usher, you got it right. This song makes me say damn...you're right usher, I've got it bad.

2. Beyonce/Destinys Child - Dangerously in Love
Sometimes this happens to ppl, me too, you like the person so much even though you shouldn't, can't or you just know that crushing on this person is bad news..

3. Usher- Confessions Pt. II
Usher has a track record, as sad as the song is and no matter how much wrong you did, we forgive you because you keep feeding us with dope tracks.

4. Boyz II Men - On Bended Knee
For all you guys that know how it feels to fall in the gutter, be kicked by ppl passing by and being shatted on by birds all at once, I was once there. And Boyz II Men was with me all the way.

5. Justin Timberlake - Cry me a River
Britney never deserved you..She was always crazy (reference Toronto Star Sunday edition, FEb 25th, 2007, Arts/Media section, page 7. She shaved her head and is hitting a car with an umbrella)

6. Monica - Just one of them Days
When I was single, sometimes I would think, just one of dem days, I wish I was your man. You know what i'm talking about, when you have that crush and you wish that person would just realize that you exist and have so much love to give...just one of them days

7. TLC - Creep
Classic

8. Montell Jordan - This is How we Do It
One of the best club songs of all time..They still play it, surprisingly. But its one of those songs that reminds you of the early 90's, it makes you drop everything and say raise the roof. Thank you Montell, but you should haved retired after that song.

9. Aaliyah - I Miss You
Even though Aaliyah passed away after the release, this song was on repeat for weeks. It always reminded me of all the friends that have passed along the way, family that have left us and relationships that could have been something...

10. Janet Jackson - Got Til its gone
QTip really made this track what its worth, but this song is unbelievable. It brings back so many memories, all the parties i've been to, all the girls i've dated and its still on my playlists for ultra hip lounging tracks.

11. Fugees - Killing me Softly
Wow. This song had all the girls singing and it made playing an RnB track loud in your car cool. This was probably the biggest RnB song of the 90s, Lauryns voice was just mesmorizing...I just couldn't say no and turn off that radio when it was on..

12. Musiq - Just Friends
Read the lyrics, sometimes you wish friends weren't just friends...

13. LL Cool J ft. Boyz II Men - Hey Lover
I remember when this song came out, I had the biggest crush on this girl, and she had a boyfriend...they lyrics would just run in my head all the time when I was around her...I really wanted to make her feel special and know that i had a crush on her without getting wrecked by her bf..It didn't happen.

There's my list. Feel free to comment add your RnB songs that have dictated, narrated your love life.

its' been awhile...

It's been awhile since I've written in this blog.

Whats happened since? Not much..just a few things:
1. Job just gets better
2. Xbox360 is killing my free tim
3. TokyoPoliceClub, Of Montreal, Augustana, Bloc Party

Back to the blog part..

I can't wait to go to New York again. The city is more than the word fun. There is just so much to eat, to see, to do, to understand and there's always just relax and absorb the culture, sights and history. I'm really looking forward to it, although not too many people will be going, I think even if I venture off on my own to walk around the entire city, MOMA, Gugenheim could easily fill 4-5 days.

I always wonder what would have been if I left Toronto after school to work there, or even I grew up in an entirely different city, how different would I actually be? If I would think the same, have the hair, care about politics, same type of friends....list goes on........

Today was just a random thought day..no purpose.

Starbucks.

I read in an article today that Starbucks is a large contributor to poverty in undeveloped countries.

Instead of using fertile land to produce necessary food sources for the nation, Starbucks would go into the country, buy out the politicians and government officials involved, grow and produce coffee beans and by-products to ship over to developed nations to reap insane profits. Hardly fair because the natives and citizens of that nation depending upon that piece of land to yield necessary staples in life are now deprived of a possible food source. It happens everywhere, not only is Starbucks involved, but larger corporations will reap the same profits and benefits. Responsibility also falls on the government....

Just my opinion. Drink water.

I miss you!

I miss my girlfriend so much.

Its weird how I find myself thinking about things I would be doing with her if she were here..I miss the closeness, the hugs, kisses, the constant contact with someone I share so much with..Even with all the crazy things she does on a regular basis...

I would like to say Thank you Jeannette for letting me get trashed and letting me sleep in your bed with the possibility I would hurl all over your clean sheets. Thank you.

The party had some weird people, me and kyle saw a pregnant lady at the club..of course the common older asian guy who should stop clubbing..Nevertheless it was fun..cheap drinks..but I felt so gross after I drank, and everyone somehow spilt drinks on me..another fun new years.
Participants:
Gloria- Didn't get drunk surprisingly, but always fun to club with
Kyle- A very coercive friend who will almost blackmail you to drink. Don't share a bed with him, he wakes up funny
Woo- ID. I was hoping to countdown with you
Ana- Dances so cool with the glowstick, we should have drank more
Eric- 2 shots of 151 is hard..take it easy
Renee- Good thing you brought the camera! Always a fun time with BR
Jeanette- How come you didn't get so drunk? I guess someone had to be responsible with getting us home..thanks!
Tracy- Funny girl..thanks for fixing my shoulders and neck when I had random headaches and blurs
Tina- I don't know her very well, but she had fun I think..you should have came with me to get a burger
Crystal- I don't know her very well, but it was good to club with her..i think thats the second new years i've seen her

Another good year. Next year, Vegas? NY? Paris? LA? Montreal?

New Years.

New Years has always been a great time for me. Unfortunately I won't be able to spend it with my favourite girl, but spending it with friends is still lots of fun. More importantly, it is new start, a new career and basically the start of many minor changes in my life.

1. I plan to lose weight. I have to play more sports and workout more, my stomach is finally catching up with my age and I have to eat in moderation and exercise more frequently.
2. I start a new job the first week of January. Higher targets, more responsibility and more pressure. But at least things are going in the right direction and I am working quickly towards an executive role in a nationwide bank.

Well those are my main things for the new year and I truly hope my relationship with my significant other progresses in a positive manner, as it has the past 2 years and a bit. Truly it has been a blessing and to share all this with one particular person has made every minute worthwhile. No regrets. Love you lots.

Seeing the world.

The past week I have been to 5 different countries and airports. As much as I hate to admit travelling costs a lot of money, seeing the world has opened my eyes to the global society and how small and insignificant I am in the world. I would say it was and still is a great privilege to see the world and I definitely encourage that to all my friends and family.

The best part of seeing the world is seeing it when you're young. Definitely, as you get older you'll have more money to live more comfortably and purchase more items, but the world will not shape how you think. It is more of a vacation or a getaway.

When you're still young, you don't have the same responsibilities yet, such as kids, mortgage payments, etc...., and your mind has not developed into a particular pro-working mindframe. You see the world and discover the creation of civilizations, learning about culture and history, seeing how people live, the architecture of new and old...This will help you generate a level of comparison of lifestyle, standard of living and also what you want to do with your life. It may result to the conclusion that you prefer Toronto lifestyle more, but in the end the decision was only derived because you saw certain comparable parts of the world.

If you ever want to travel, let me know. I have lots of vacation and I am dying to see the rest of the world.

My future travel goals:
1. Asia - as many cities, towns, farms, landmarks as I can afford
2. South Africa
3. The rest of Europe - Mainly Prague, France, London, Spain (Mallorca, Barcelona, Madrid), Greece, Italy (Rome and Sicily)
4. South America - Brazil and Chile
5. Panama City
6. LA/San Francisco
7. BC Rockies
8. Golfing anywhere in California or Southeast coastline.
